昨晚難得睡了滿滿的9個小時
今天一打開電腦 收到一封來自ohio state老師的信
我大概3週前寫信問她收學生的意願
雖然回得有點官腔 但至少看得出來不是自動回信系統
不知道大家覺得老師寫信時的心情是如何?

Ohio State is a great place to work and my lab is well funded for a variety of research projects. You are welcome to call me and/or send further emails to stay in touch. 我的指導老師說 可以回信提醒對方我已經寄出申請資料之類的
申請學校真像是30年前在產房外等老婆生產
不知道會不會順利生出來 是男的還女的 長得怎麼樣

To be honest, it is, however, very common for Western teachers to write a letter like that to a student. Some of my friends had recieved sort of these response, but they still failed to enter that program.
However, this is indicating a open door for you, and what's going on depends on your speciality or personality. Feel free to contact the teacher and tell her you had applied for this program.
I strongly suggest you first make sure the extent to which this professor can influence your admission. according to his influence, you then decide to place your energy on him/her or contact the other one. Note that don't waste your time on those unhelpful since you must spend much time on those probably giving you a privilege. Thus, don't feel embarrassed to express your desire after some communication- they also want to save time- if you are favorable to them.
Then, after determining your target, please read some works from him/her and make summary which help you discuss with him/her. Ask the question from his work or give sincere compliment about it. Even you can criticize it(you dare not to do it). Be concise and to the point. That is why I say you don't have time to waste.
Finally, introduce him about yourself by sending him your work or blog. Make sure that those materials can show your characterisitcs and sperialities. Feel free to talk about your prospect and the problem you are facing, and even you can call for a help or a instruction from him.
Keep in mind that now is final period when the professor are very busy. But don't contact them after final since they may leave time for family without opening any e-mail from students. So, again, be short and powerful, or somewhat humorous and related, which increases the possiblity they open your email next time.

I am so happy to see you here!!!
It is 3am so I will talk with you tomorrow...maybe after my work done...and it may be another 3am...haha
Anyway, I am very very happy and I know tonight I will have a sweet sleep!
BTW, all my friends, I-Zn is also one of my best friends. Let me introduce him to all of you later!
